Disaster recovery package

Did you just go live with a new site, only to find out all kinds of strange things happening?  Is your site hacked / defaced / unreachable? Keep reading.

 How it works

Like many of our other services, the disaster recover effort can vary, depending on the attack, your hosting, the age of your installation and the success and skill of the attacker.

Our Disaster recovery package includes all the activities that are necessary to block the attacker's activities, attempt removing the malware and restoring the site functionality - at least partially.

What we need

  • a clean and tested backup (important if you want the discount!)
  • super user access
  • ftp access to your webserver
  • access and error logs (not mandatory)
  • ssh access or control panel access to your hosting plan

Expected outcome

Restoring the site online status in a special "read-only" mode.  The main Joomla! version will be updated, and any known-vulnerable extensions will be updated too.

This will let your site be visible again, but is only the first step.

Exceptions:

  1. The restoring is only possible under certain conditions: cleaning the database or hand-removing infection from custom files is not included;
  2. If the server operating system is compromised or obsolete, we can fix the site offline but a separate offer will be made for cleaning the server.

The report

A full report including all the activities that are required for the disinfection, including and detailing:

  • the ip address the attack originated from;
  • the infected files;
  • the vulnerability used by the attacker;
  • an offer for restoring or migrating the site to a stable and secure state.
